Procedure for Backflush Each Delivery Group
- Swap out the coffee filter in the group handle with a blind filter.
- For daily maintenance, place 1 level scoop of Espresso Clean® into the group handle as though preparing espresso. If cleaning is less frequent, increase to 2 level scoops.
- Initiate the cycle and let it run for 10 seconds to dissolve the cleaner.
- Halt the cycle and let it sit for 10 seconds.
- Repeat the cycle 4 more times - run for 10 seconds, pause for 10 seconds.
- Take out the group handle and thoroughly rinse it under a stream of water from the delivery group. Then, turn off the machine.
- Reattach the handle with the blind filter, and cycle it 10 times - run for 5 seconds, pause for 2 seconds to ensure thorough rinsing.
- Remove the blind filter and replace it with a regular one.
- Brew and discard a single espresso shot to re-season the machine.
Procedure to Clean Filters and Group Handles
- Submerge group handles and filters in 500mL of hot water mixed with 2 level scoops of Espresso Clean®, and let them soak for 10 minutes.
- Thoroughly rinse them under a stream of running hot water.
